DESCRIPTION:
France, three piece mantel garniture set, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven pendule de Paris movement, the case with cast Rococo style base supporting a sphere with applied roman numerals, the hands in the form of a snake, all surmounted by a cast metal putto with outstretched wings holding a garland, the two matching side pieces with putti holding aloft the candleabra.
CONDITION:
the cast metal base has lost much of its gilding. The spherical body of the clock and two hemispheres of the side pieces have been painted a dark shade of pink. Very nice snake-form hands. Count wheel and bell movement is stamped with a single anchor mark. The movement is oily.
